EL PASO, TEXAS – May 2, 2014 – Representatives from AGC El Paso and OSHA signed a partnership agreement recently at the El Paso headquarters of AGC to continue working together to promote safety, support programs and safety education programs at job sites and classrooms.
Pictured in the photo, starting at the left, is our very own Victor Dominguez, Jr., Board President of the AGC El Paso Chapter, with Adam Pacheco, Interim Executive Director of the AGC El Paso Chapter, Abraham Arzola, Compliance Assistance Specialist with the U.S. Department of Labor, and Diego Alvarado, of the U.S. Department of Labor/El Paso OSHA office.
Adam Pacheco described the agreement. "The AGC/OSHA Partnership began in 2007 and has just been renewed till 2017. The partnership requires our participants to be leaders in the safety category of the construction industry," Pacheco stated. "Our safety coordinator, Ronnie Uribe, does quarterly mock inspections to make sure our participants are on the top of their game and OSHA does a yearly inspection with our participants. The participants are required to turn in the end of the year OSHA 300 Logs."
"It is our goal as a partnership to keep the incident rates below the previous year’s rate and the national rate," he continued. "When an OSHA inspector shows up to a partners’ job site, the inspector must allow the partner 30 minutes to call our safe coordinator so he can go to the site and walk with the inspector."
