El Paso International Airport Runway Project Wins Top Award - Jordan Foster Construction April 12, 2017

The Construction Management Association of America, North Texas Chapter, has just awarded the Reconstruction of Runway 8L-26R, Taxiways U and V, and new parallel Taxiway Y Project at El Paso International Airport top honors in the Transportation – less than $50-million category.

Jordan Foster Infrastructure was a key member of the Project Team, which was managed by Huitt-Zollars, and included directors and managers of El Paso International Airport, The City of El Paso, and Paragon Project Resources.

The project entailed the removal and reconstruction of Runway 8L-26R, the reconstruction of existing Taxiways U and V, a new parallel Taxiway Y, and four new connector Taxiways. Work included significant earthwork cuts and fills, placement of Portland Cement Concrete Pavement, asphalt stabilized shoulders, drainage improvements, water line realignments, replacement of Federal Aviation Administration communication lines, protecting petroleum pipelines with structural caps, airfield and runway signing and striping, and the modification of existing navigational aids.
