Congratulations to the Residential Division on the recently-signed contract to build The Citadel at Westpointe. The project value is $33,079,368.
Located on San Antonio’s west side, The Citadel at Westpointe will be a garden-style apartment complex comprised of two three-story residential structures, nine two-story residential structures, a clubhouse, and four detached garage structures. There will be 282 total units, with 90 Big House-style units, and 192 eUrban units. In that regard, the project will be similar to Jordan Foster’s multiple-award-winning San Antonio project, The Preserve on Fredericksburg. Humphreys & Partners was the Architect on that development, and is the Architect on The Citadel at Westpointe. Karen Kramer & Associates is the Interior Designer on the project. The Owner/Developer of the project is Cambridge Development Group, Houston.
The total net rentable square footage will be roughly 260,000, within more than 371,000 total square feet of building space. All of the buildings will be conventional wood-framed structures. The exteriors will feature a mix of stone and Hardie board, with composite shingle roofing.
The Clubhouse will feature a resident lounge, cyber café with a gourmet coffee bar, a gourmet demonstration kitchen, an extensive fitness center, a dog park, outdoor cooking areas, and a resort-style pool with cabanas and a Jacuzzi.
The interiors of the apartment homes will feature open-design floor plans with nine-foot ceilings, decorative designer lighting, washers and dryers, oversized walk-in closets, upscale kitchens, and pre-wired Internet access.
The project has a construction schedule of 19 months from Date of Commencement to last building or phase substantial completion.
Special thanks go out to the Estimating Team of Brad Waters and Justin Morris, with Project Manager Sean O’Quinn joining in the creation of a winning proposal and bid. Thanks to Corporate Counsel Courtney McKendrick-Green for her work on the contract.
Along with Project Manager Sean O’Quinn, the Project Team will include Superintendent Ken Dean, Quality Control Manager Tim Brooks, Quality Control Assistant Will Ellison, Director of Operations Terry Peek, and Regional Director Corey Brunsvold.
Congratulations to everyone involved in securing this great new project, and best of luck to the Project Team as they begin construction!
