The new Special Projects Division, working out of the San Antonio office, was just awarded its first project, a façade repair of the Southeast Clinic of the University Health System in Bexar County.
The scope of work entails repair of the mortar joints, cracked masonry units, cast stone, window jambs, sills and heads, brick replacement, and replacement of damaged frame components. Additional work will include the installation of new brick wall control joints, grout injection, water (coat) bonding, and sealant joints. Also on tap is the replacement of the roof drain sumps, and sealing of the cracks along the edges of the roof.
The contract value is $236,000, and this initial project will serve to position the new division for additional work with University Health Systems, including providing an opportunity to construct their new parking garage.
Raba Kistner, a premier engineering consulting and program management firm, performed the engineering on this project.
Derek Kidd, Project Manager, is heading up the new Special Projects Division and managing this initial job.
Congratulations to everyone who had a hand in the creation of this new arm of Jordan Foster Construction, and in winning this first project!
