On Tuesday, July 11th, San Antonio signed the contract to build the Thompson San Antonio Hotel and The Arts Residences, a 20-floor, mixed-use, hotel and condominium tower on the San Antonio River Walk.
Located at the epicenter of San Antonio’s vibrant performing arts district, the 337,000-plus-square-foot mixed-use development will sit on what is now a .66-acre parking lot, across the river from the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts, and next to Hotel Indigo. The development will include The Arts Residences’ 66 luxury condominiums atop San Antonio’s first Thompson Hotel.
With architecture by Powers Brown and interior design by Amass & G., the Thompson San Antonio Hotel and The Arts Residences will boast dazzling views of downtown, the San Antonio River Walk, and the Hill Country. The for-sale residences are priced from the $400,000s to over $4.5 million for penthouses.
The project is scheduled to start in September, with completion in May 2019.
“We are delighted to welcome Jordan Foster Construction to the outstanding team that will make the Thompson San Antonio Hotel and The Arts Residences a reality,” said DC Partners CEO Roberto Contreras. “Jordan Foster has the background, expertise, and reputation for excellence this exceptional project demands.”

With the development of the Thompson San Antonio Hotel and The Arts Residences, developer DC Partners is entering the San Antonio market for the first time. Teaming up with San Antonio-based Universal Service Group, the development will create approximately 1,300 new jobs, and is slated to break ground this summer.
