Jordan Foster Construction is currently seeking a Superintendent for our El Paso location to Schedule, coordinate and supervise craft employee activities.  May involve supervising one or more trade groups (concrete finishers, carpenters, laborers, etc.) working in particular construction discipline. Provide overall on-site administrative and technical management on construction project site.  

 

 

Job Duties:

  • Must be willing to travel if required.
  • Supervise total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule.  Determine man power levels, material quantities, equipment and those requirements are maintained.
  • Supervise craft employees and/or other contractors as required by the contract.
  • Ensure that time cards are completed to accurately reflect hours worked
  • Provide technical assistance.  Interpret drawings, recommending construction methods and equipment as required.
  • Assist project management in developing and implementing project procedures , working documents, standards, etc.
  • Ensure all on-site personnel comply with project procedures, safety program requirements, work rules and company policies. Document all violations, notify project management, and recommend/implement corrective actions as required up to suspensions and terminations.
  • Assume responsibility for productivity of crafts, efficient use of materials and equipment, and contractual performance of the project.
  • Responsible for scheduling, inspections, quality control and job site Safety.
  • Maintain a daily job site log.
  • Advise senior level supervision/project management of potential problems, interferences and schedule difficulties.  Assist in circumventing/resolving such problems as requires.
  • Generate two-week log ahead of schedule.
  • Scheduling, Inspections, Quality Control and jobsite safety.
  • Maintain a daily jobsite safety log.
  • Perform additional assignments per Project Manager and Vice President’s direction.

Employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. Employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high and precarious places; extreme cold; and extreme heat. Employee occasionally will be exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibrations. Noise level is usually loud.

 Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:

  • Engineering degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and /or related experience. 
  • Minimum 5 years construction experience preferably in a supervisory capacity. 
  • Working knowledge of various construction disciplines, cost construction, scheduling, safety regulations, engineering drawings and other documents required. Computer knowledge.
  • May be required to use personal computer for emails, scheduling and time tracking.
  • Ability to supervise and evaluate craft personal essential.
  • OSHA 30 hr Course
  • Computer Skills:  Microsoft Package (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work with numerous contractors and sub-contractors in an efficient manner.  
  • Must pass background check.
