This Land Port of Entry provides the first line of security for our client, Homeland Security – Customs and Border Patrol. The 5,000-square-foot, two-story facility has two inbound lanes and one outbound lane with ballistic resistant inspection booths. The facility also has a 1,500-square-foot secondary inspection canopy for custom inspectors to perform more thorough inspection on incoming vehicles. The building has been designed with 8” thick tilt-up concrete panels and level three ballistic resistant window to provide necessary protection to the agents within the building. The first floor provides administrative space, interrogation rooms, two detention cells, a small laboratory, and breakroom. The second floor provides a physical fitness room with dressing and shower rooms. The client requested a modification to the contract to add an 18KW photovoltaic system.

The facility is designed and being constructed to achieve LEED Gold certification.
