Play Ball! The AAA El Paso Chihuahuas took home field spring 2014 in a brand new, state-of-the-art ballpark in downtown El Paso, TX. Open-air with natural turf, the facility has the capability to host concerts, sporting events and community-oriented events. Southwest University Park has 7,000 to 9,000 seats, which include fixed seating, two & four-top table seating, outfield berm seating and other general admission areas. In addition, public open spaces are integrated into the site facilities.
The ballpark project started with the demolition of the Insight Museum and City Hall, a 12-story structure. See a video of the demolition explosion on the video page.
