City of El Paso

The TxDOT Rapid Transit System (RTS) Stations project consists of the development of the 12-mile rapid transit bus system with 18 stations for the Dyer Corridor in El Paso. Offering a system similar to light rail transit with improved speed and reliability, the bus system will use 60-foot articulated buses, and deliver a system at a much lower cost. The scope of work encompasses the construction of 18 RTS stations for the Dyer Corridor from the Downtown Transfer Center to the Northeast Transfer Center. Work on the stations will include construction of bus pads, platforms for the station canopies, the station canopies themselves with accompanying furniture, illumination systems, and Wi-Fi equipment. Foundations will be built for ticket vending machines, variable message signs will be installed, and pylons will be constructed. Amenities will include landscaping, pedestrian lighting, and sidewalks within the 250-foot radius around each station.
